Steel Cut Oats with Fruit & Nuts
Steel cut oats are heartier and healthier than other oatmeal. It takes longer to cook, but reheats really well even after fruit and nuts have been added.
- 1/4 cup steel cut oats
- dried fruit, fresh fruit, nuts, cream, milk, honey optional
- Bring water to a boil in saucepan.
- Stir in oats; reduce heat to medium low.
- Simmer uncovered 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed and oats are tender.
